Benjamin Shawa is a country Economist at IGC Zambia working with key local policy makers in Government, Civil Society and the private sector as well as global researchers to promote policy informed by evidence. Before joining the IGC, Benjamin worked as an economist for the Ministry of Finance and National Planning in Zambia largely focusing on macro policy formulation and real sector economic analysis. He holds a Ba in Development Studies and an Ma in Policy Economics from Williams college Centre for Development Economics, and his research interests are in Economic growth and Subsidies.
