Chomba Kalunga is the Head of the Zambia Evidence Lab (ZEL), a government-led initiative spearheaded by the government of Zambia’s Ministry of Finance and National Planning (MoFNP) with support from the International Growth Centre (IGC). The Lab strives to leverage data to inform government and produce actionable policy outputs. She is an accomplished Economist with experience in economic analysis, research and data management, with a primary focus on Zambia. Chomba previously served as a Lecturer and Data Analyst at Coventry University, where she also held an Early Career Research Fellowship.
Chomba earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Glasgow, where her research focused on the relationship between natural resources and local economies. She also holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Zambia (UNZA).
