Ishmael Kamara is a PhD student in Economics at Universitas Islam International Indonesia (UIII), with research interests in energy, environment, and sustainable growth. Formerly with Statistics Sierra Leone, he contributed to national GDP and CPI data systems. His IGC research assesses Sierra Leone’s current energy access, consumption patterns, and cost structure to identify viable pathways for expanding renewables such as hydropower, solar, wind, and sustainable biomass. By linking empirical energy modelling with climate adaptation strategies, his work provides actionable insights for policymakers pursuing sustainable and inclusive energy transitions.
