Kaivan Munshi is Professor of Economics at Brown and received his PhD in 1995 in Economics from MIT. Before coming to Brown in 2003, Munshi was Assistant Professor at both Boston University and University of Pennsylvania. A PSTC Associate since 2003, Munshi is interested in economic development, population, and demography, with a particular emphasis on the interaction between social institutions and economic activity.
