Karrar is an Associate Professor at the American University in Bulgaria and fellow at the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP). His research interests lie in the areas of behavioral economics and development economics with a particular focus on health, gender, and firms’ behavior. He employs field, lab, lab-in-the-field experiments, and surveys to understand economic decision-making and its behavioral underpinnings.
Karrar has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California (USC). He has previously served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at both the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
