Kosam Chola is a Data Analyst at the Zambia Evidence Lab (ZEL), part of the International Growth Centre (IGC). He supports government ministries in transforming administrative and economic data into actionable insights for evidence-based policymaking. His work focuses on data integration, developing data pipelines, predictive modelling and the design of analytical tools and dashboards that strengthen fiscal planning, public-sector effectiveness and sustainable economic growth.

Prior to joining the IGC, Kosam served as a Senior Economist at Zambia’s Ministry of Finance and National Planning, where he led forecasting and macroeconomic modelling efforts to inform fiscal and development policy. He has also worked with the United Nations and the World Bank on projects related to development and economic stability analysis, data system enhancement and performance monitoring. Most recently, he contributed to developing macroeconomic scenarios and data visualizations that will inform the formulation of Zambia’s Ninth Development Plan (9NDP).

Kosam holds a BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zambia, an MSc in Economic Data Analysis from the Prague University of Economics and Business and an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Lusaka. His professional interests include data-driven policymaking, artificial intelligence for development and the integration of technology in public-sector decision systems.
