Numair Liaqat

Numair Liaqat is a Former Policy Economist for the State Fragility Initiative at the  IGC. He has previously worked as a Country Economist for the IGC's Pakistan Program. His research interests include human development, environmental sustainability, public finance, urbanisation, and energy.

Numair holds an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Prior to his role at the IGC, he has worked as an Assistant Economist in the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) and has also been a part of the Pakistan Audits and Accounts Service. His work focused on public housing, urban development, water and sanitation, and regional development policy.
