Mr Chinganya serves as the Board Chairperson of the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats), a key partner for IGC’s data and AI initiative.
Previously, he served as the Director of the African Centre for Statistics at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). He is a Fellow and Chartered Statistician of the UK’s Royal Statistical Society, and Vice-President of the International Statistical Institute. With more than 30 years of experience in statistical development in Africa, including appointments at the African Development Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), he brings expertise in strategic resource management, statistical policy development, household and enterprise surveys, price and labour statistics, national accounts and poverty estimation.
He holds an MSc in Statistics from the University of Southampton and an MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
