Rahmatallah joined the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies in November 2014 to lead the electricity research program. Previously he was a researcher in Durham University where he worked on energy research projects and finished his PhD in energy economics.

Rahmatallah’s educational background comprised an MSc in energy economics and policy from University of Surrey, a graduate diploma in economics from Queen Mary University of London and a BSc in aerospace engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).
