Dr. Saima Nawaz is a Professor of Economics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Economic Development, Boston University, USA, and holds a PhD in Economics from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE). Her research focuses on development economics, social protection, climate resilience, institutional economics, and inclusive growth, with a strong emphasis on generating rigorous evidence to inform public policy in low- and middle-income countries. She has developed a multidisciplinary research agenda that integrates poverty dynamics, adaptive social protection, labor markets, climate change, infrastructure, and governance to examine how institutions and public policies shape economic mobility and resilience.
