Sam Bell is a co-founder of SVA and leads a number of SVA programmes in Zambia focused on renewable energy and climate-smart agriculture. Sam has significant experience in the carbon markets including climate finance and the design and registration of a number of CDM offset programmes across Africa, and he has contributed to the climate policy agenda at an international and national level working with think-thanks, universities and the World Bank. He conducts collaborative research on the provision of environmental services, climate adaption and food security in developing nation contexts using randomized control trials and other cutting-edge research methodologies, and he has extensive expertise in monitoring and evaluation. Sam is nearing completion of his PhD in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, and holds Bachelor degrees in Economics as well as Commerce (Finance) from the Australian National University.
