Stephen Jackson is a Lab Economist at the Zambia Evidence Lab (ZEL), a government-led initiative spearheaded by the government of Zambia’s Ministry of Finance and National Planning (MoFNP) with support from the International Growth Centre (IGC). The Lab strives to leverage data to inform government and produce actionable policy outputs.
Stephen is also a PhD candidate at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University where he has been working on the role of natural resources in economic development. His research focuses on the economic and environmental impacts of artisanal small-scale mining in Liberia, as well as the provision of clean drinking water in DRC. He holds an MSc in Development Economics from Paris 1 and a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick. Prior to joining the IGC, he worked as a consultant for the OECD’s Trade and Agriculture Directorate and as field coordinator overseeing data collection activities in rural Liberia.
