Taryn Dinkelman is Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame. She was previously an Assistant Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and an Assistant Professor at Princeton University and held visiting appointments at Yale University and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. She received her PhD from the University of Michigan in August 2008. Her primary fields are in development economics and labour, with a focus on Africa. She has worked on the labour market effects of electrification in rural South Africa, the impact of an informal sector minimum wage in a developing country, the long-term health and human capital effects of being born in a drought, and the long run effects of circular labour migration in Africa.
