Thomas Walker is an economist in the Middle East and North Africa Poverty and Gender group at the World Bank. Since joining the Bank as a Young Professional in 2011, he has worked on gender, youth and labor market issues in the MENA region. He is currently advising the Government of Tunisia on poverty methodology and the economic and social impacts of policy reform. Thomas previously worked as an economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University, based on field research he conducted in Ghana.
