Tom McDermott is a lecturer at the School of Economics, University College Cork, a Principal Investigator at the Environmental Research Institute at University College Cork and a visiting fellow at the Grantham Research Institute, LSE. His research interests are at the intersection of development and environmental economics. In particular, his research focuses on the economic impacts of extreme weather events and on adaptation to climate change. He is co-editor, with Sam Fankhauser, of The Economics of Climate Resilient Development to be published by Edward Elgar in July 2016.
