Vasco Correia Nhabinde is currently the Director of the National Directorate for Economic and Financial Studies (DEEF) within the Ministry of Economics and Finance. Previously, he was the Head of Department and Executive Director of the Centre of Studies in Economics and Management at the Faculty of Economics of the Eduardo Mondlane University. Educated in Mozambique, he did his Master (2000) in Italy on Economics of Regulation and PhD (2007) in South Africa on Economics. He is married and has 4 children. He is a lecturer on Macroeconomics and Microeconomics since 2001 and on Industrial Economics since 2008. He worked as Chemical Analyst in the Department of Sanitary Engineering of the Eduardo Mondlane University for seven years. In the period going from October 1998 to September 1999 he worked for the National Directorate of Water Affairs. He has been involved in several researches on retirement funds, Government consumption, etc. He was also involved in market oriented studies such as market studies, revenue forecasting, and policy analysis, among others.
