Andrew Williams is Associate Professor in the Economics department at the UWA Business School. After receiving his PhD in Economics from UWA in 2008, he has worked largely in the development field, with a particular focus on the economic causes and consequences of transparency (with a sideline in research on the determinants of student academic success). He has published research in the Journal of Development Economics, the Economics of Governance, and World Development, among others. In early 2014, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Oxford Centre for the Analysis of Resource-Rich Economies (Oxcarre) at Oxford University. In addition to his research, Andrew also teaches undergraduate Microeconomics, and has recently started a blog on microeconomic issues designed specifically for his first year students (UWA Microeconomics blog). He currently lives in Perth with his wife and three children.
