Anjani Kumar

Anjani Kumar received his PhD (1999) and Masters (1992) in Dairy Economics from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India. Before joining IFPRI as Research Fellow, he was Principal Scientist (Agricultural Economics) at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad. Earlier, he has served as Principal Scientist at National Centre for Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (NCAP), New Delhi and as Senior Agricultural Economist in the Asia Office of International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Nairobi. He has been a team leader of a number of research projects and his contributions include trade liberalization and its impact on livestock and fisheries; food safety issues and their implications; cost of compliance of food safety measures, technological change and agricultural growth, etc. He has written about 50 research papers in national and international research journals on various agricultural development issues. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of India.
