Asad is a Professor at the Department of Economics, and Director of the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES) at the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University. His recent research focuses on social networks, schooling and health, microfinance, petty corruption, and risk-sharing mechanisms of households.
