Dr Priyantha D C Wijayatunga

Dr Priyantha D C Wijayatunga Obtained a PhD in Power Economics from Imperial College, London in 1992 on the Beit Scientific Research Fellowship.  He is a Principal Energy Specialist with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).  He was a Senior Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and the founder and Director General of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.  He is a Chartered Engineer and a Corporate Member of IET, London, Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has been the ADB focal point for regional energy cooperation in South Asia since 2008.  He has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector and has authored over 75 publications including “Energy Trade in South Asia:  Opportunities and Challenges” of ADB.
