Mr. Eduardo Augusto de Almeida Guimaraes has been a member of Forbes's audit committee since December 2008. He was CEO of Banco do Estado de Sao Paulo - Banespa from 1999 to 2000, CEO of Banco do Brasil S.A. from 2001 to 2003, a Member of the Board of Directors of Fertibras S.A. from 2005 to 2007 and a Member of the Audit Committee of Globex - Utilidades Domesticas S.A. from 2008 to 2009 and Member of the Audit Committee of Unibanco - Uniao de Bancos Brasileiros S.A. from April 2004 to December 2008. He was President of the Brazilian Institute Foundation of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) from 1990 to 1992 and Secretary of the National Treasury of the Ministry of Finance from 1996 to 1999. He has also held various academic positions, such as Full Professor of the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Professor of the Department of Economics of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and Professor of the School of Economics and Business Administration of the Fluminense Federal University. He holds bachelor's degree in civil engineering and economics. He has a master's degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Ph.D. in economics from the University of London.
