Gaurav Chiplunkar is an Assistant Professor in the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He did his PhD in Economics from Yale University. His research interests are at the intersection of development & labour economics and examines on the one hand, how large industrial policies affect firm behaviour and on the other, how frictions in the labour market constrain job search, recruitment and hiring practices by workers and firms. He also studies how policy reforms and new technologies can help mitigate these frictions.
