Kamran is an Assistant Professor, a Senior Trainer and Consultant in the Department of Management and the Center for Entrepreneurial Development at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan. He also sits on the board of directors at A’Mumtaz, a family run management consulting firm in
Pakistan.

His areas of expertise include operations & supply chain development and cost optimization. In his career spanning over the past ten years he has worked with various organizationsin senior management positions. He has worked with Schlumberger, Oman; Al-Tuwairqi Group, KSA; Kraft Foods (Philip Morris) and ConPrint, USA; DFID, UK; Service Sales Corporation, Tetra Pak and Engro Foods, Pakistan. He has launched projectsthat have earned organizations profits/savings, in some cases crossing the million dollar mark.

His other engagements include working as a special consul with the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Pakistan, Washington, DC and founding a distribution business in New York. The business reached annual revenue target of US$240K within one year of its operation. Kamran is also former Vice President, Supply Chain Association of Pakistan (SCAP) and former President SCAP Lahore Chapter.
He has presented in international conferences and has published at both local and international outlets.

His papers have been accepted in reputed international conferences such as DSI and PMAC. Recently one of his case studies won the best paper award in Operations Management at the AJMC Case Conference and an award at the Molson International Case Competition. Kamran has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from GIKI, Pakistan and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Business from Texas A&M University, USA. His doctoral research is from Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan.
