Dr.  Mujtaba Piracha is the Ambassador/ PR of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the WTO. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Development Studies, and graduated from the London School of Economics. Dr. Piracha has over 27 years’ of experience of public management, public-private partnerships, public sector reform, policy making and implementation. He has served as Commissioner of Lahore Division, and Provincial Secretary for Commerce, Industries and Skills Development Department in the Government of the Punjab. Also as a Member of the Punjab Revenue Authority (Sales’ Tax on Services).  His book ‘Property taxes and state incapacity in Pakistan’, published by the Oxford University Press recently won ‘Bloomsbury Pakistan,UK’ Book award for 2022.
