Dr Sanchari Roy is a Senior Lecturer in Development Economics at the Department of International
Development. She completed her BA in Economics at Presidency College, Calcutta, MA in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and PhD in Economics at London School of Economics. Prior to joining King’s, Sanchari was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Warwick and Lecturer in Economics at the University of Sussex. Sanchari’s research has been published in the Economic Journal, Journal of Development Economics and Oxford Review of Economic Policy. Her work has also received press coverage in The Economist, The Hindu and Deccan Herald. In addition, she has also written on issues pertaining to the Indian economy in newspapers such as The Guardian, as well as in magazines such as The Outlook and Economic and Political Weekly.
