Shubhranka Mondal was a Policy Economist for the Firms Initiative at the International Growth Centre (IGC).

Shubhranka holds an MSc in International Development from London School of Economics (LSE), a post graduate diploma in journalism from Asian College of Journalism and an undergraduate in economics from Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), University of Delhi. Prior to joining IGC, Shubhranka has worked as a Consultant to the Ministry of MSME, Government of India where she had played a key role in setting up the Ministry’s first women entrepreneurship cell and advising the government in major policy reforms to support socially marginalised entrepreneurs in the country. Shubhranka has also worked as a research associate at IFMR LEAD and lead a number of field studies to understand the linkages caste and entrepreneurship and use of various fintech models for financial inclusion.

Shubhranka’s research interest are in informality and business growth, female entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and circular economy.
