Vijaya Gupta has been working as Professor of Economics at the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai. She has around 34 years of teaching and research experience. She has also worked as regular visiting faculty of Economics at the Sheffield University Management School and Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK during 1993-94. Her general research interests are in the fields of environmental economics, development economics and agricultural economics and in particular social entrepreneurship, valuation of intangibles, growth and environment, vulnerability assessment of climate change and climate change adaptation in agriculture. She has extensively published papers in journals, book chapters and conference proceedings of International Economic Association, International Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, International Society of Ecological Economics to name a few. She is also a reviewer of many journals of repute.
