Vikas Rawal is a Professor of Economics at Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He obtained his PhD from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai in 2000, specialising in agricultural and development economics. She earlier obtained MA in Economics from the IGIDR, Mumbai. Vikas’ research interests straddle agriculture, inequality, food security & issues in human development in India. His current research focuses on contract farming, agriculture policy, agri-markets and employment guarantee and agrarian reforms. Vikas worked with the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram, FAO, among others. the Food Safety Standards Authority of India.
