Statebuilding and eco-systems of welfare in Myanmar
The proposed project has two key objectives:
to provide an insight into the extent of Myanmar's expansive informal welfare economy and interactions of these networks with state welfare provision in both central Myanmar and ethnic minority areas; and to offer analytical tools for incoming governments at national, state and township level to engage with informal institutions and develop stronger ties of trust between government and everyday citizens throughout the country.
