Environmental taxation and carbon emissions reduction: Evidence from Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda
This study examines whether environmental taxes reduce carbon emissions in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, where emissions have continued to rise despite the introduction of pollution and energy taxes. By analysing different categories of environmental taxes over time, the research aims to identify the most effective fiscal tools to support regional climate goals and low-carbon development.
