India-Central programme research projects

Since its inception in 2010, IGC India Central has funded 130 research projects pertaining to policy relevant issues in priority areas. This paper highlights the completed projects of the IGC’s India-Central programme under the following focus areas:

1. Macroeconomics and finance
2. Manufacturing, productivity, labour markets
3. Agriculture
4. Urbanisation and land
5. Energy and Environment
6. Health and Education
7. Governance

The programme adopts a multi-pronged strategy to influence policy discourse in India, including engagement with the government, media, and civil society. IGC India Central is currently engaged in 60 research projects with leading academics from around the world.
