From position to payoff: Institutional rules, water allocation, and welfare resilience under groundwater scarcity

Working paper Energy and Sustainable Growth

This project examines how institutional arrangements in Bangladesh shape irrigation energy use, water pricing, and adoption of conservation technologies across different climatic zones. Focusing on the Barind region, it combines institutional analysis and econometric methods to evaluate policies such as solar pumps, pricing mechanisms, and efficient irrigation practices on water use, energy consumption, and farm productivity.
