Public and private transit: Evidence from Lagos
This project examines how private minibuses in Lagos, Nigeria, respond to the introduction of a new public bus network. Findings show that while commuters on treated routes experience longer wait times, those on connected routes benefit from lower prices, with overall commuter welfare gains partially offset by driver welfare losses.
