Our approach

Cities that Work synthesises cutting-edge research with the knowledge and experience of policymakers and practitioners. This synthesis of knowledge forms the basis of three key tools for policymakers:

• Targeted policy papers and briefs outlining and informing the trade-offs policymakers face in a number of areas of urban policy, tailored to specific city demands.
• Topic-specific policy workshops allowing policymakers and economic researchers to collaborate in further developing this policy-orientated body of knowledge.
• A web-based ‘toolkit’ of information, summarising this knowledge and outlining further research in these areas.

This new network and synthesis of knowledge will form the basis for executive training opportunities that will bring together the ideas and experiences of urban policymakers and leading researchers from across the world.
