This study is currently being carried out by Chirashree Das Gupta (CEPPF, ADRI) and Pronay Sarkar (CEPPF, ADRI) on the request of Principal Secretary, Department of Commercial Taxes. It will be a demonstrative exercise about what needs to be done to set district-wise commercial tax targets for FY 2011-12 based on economic rationale to replace the current ad-hoc target-setting.
