The course is primarily designed for PhD students and early career researchers, but is also open to development practitioners, policymakers, and anyone with a strong interest in economics and evidence-based policy. Participants will benefit most from the course with a foundation in PhD-level coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. 

Each lecture is held via Zoom webinar and generally consists of a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30-minute Q&A.

Those who applied for the course are expected to attend regularly. However, anyone can choose to attend only a specific class or watch recordings from the lectures at a later date. 

Course materials (lecture presentations and recorded lectures) will be uploaded when available to the event page.

Yes, it’s free. No fees or coverage of cost is required. 

We provide reading lists for those who wish to prepare for each lecture, but these are done on a voluntary basis. There are no exams or coursework.  

We do give certificates for those that regularly attend each course. The exact number of lectures depends on the length of the course but is typically above 80%. Attendance will be tracked automatically and calculated upon the completion of the course.
