IGC Sierra Leone hosted a workshop focused on jobs and inclusive growth on 6th June, in collaboration with DFID Sierra Leone.
The workshop directly addressed the question "How do we raise the incomes of the poor in Sierra Leone?" and provided an opportunity for policymakers and donors to engage with the latest evidence on labour market interventions to ensure their interventions are shaped by evidence. The workshop also encouraged policy coherence among donors and policymakers working in this space.
Policymakers from the Sierra Leone government attended the workshop to use the evidence presented to develop agendas around specific aspects of jobs and labour markets.
Dr Alimamy Bangura of the Ministry of Finance also presented with input from the Statistics Sierra Leone office which has recently completed the Labour Force Survey.
