Bruno Crépon is Professor of Economics at ENSAE and a research fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).
Professor Crépon is an applied micro-economist whose research covers the fields of econometrics, labour economics and development economics.
His research focuses on program evaluation, especially on employment and youth employment programs in both developed and developing countries.
He has conducted many Randomised Control Trials in France, Morocco, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire and South Africa.
His research in these areas has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Journal Applied and Journal of econometrics
Professor Crépon is a member of the board of the directors of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a research network devoted to randomised evaluations of social programs.
He co-chairs at J-Pal the Employment Program and the Middle East and North Africa Initiative. Professor Crépon completed his undergraduate studies at Ecole polytechnique in Paris in 1986 and ENSAE in 1988.
He completed his PhD in Economics at Sorbonne University in 1994. He first worked at the French National Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Finance before joining ENSAE in 1999.
