Mundia Kabinga is an Old Mutual Emerging Markets Lecturer at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business (GSB), having previously worked at the GSB’s Management Programme in Infrastructure Reform and Regulation (MIR), and the School of Business at the Copperbelt University.

His main research interests are on capabilities and knowledge-based theory of the firm, and trying to use this to explain greenfield and cross industry innovations at the base of the pyramid. He also works on the political economy of public services, looking at how policy and sector reform processes impact on capability structure and performance of public utilities in the electricity and water sectors.

A third area of research is on new Keynesian approaches to emergent market capital flows. He previously worked as a technical advisor at the Zambian Ministry of Finance and National Planning and as a consultant at the United Nations Development Programme. He is a graduate of the Universities of Zambia and York, with a PhD from the University of Cape Town.
