Nhial Kuch is a Senior Country Economist for IGC Uganda. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada) and an MA and PhD in economics from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada). Prior to joining the IGC, Nhial worked in the Canadian public service as an economist at Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) where he provided economic advice regarding taxation of multinational companies. Nhial also analyzed the impact of Covid-19 pandemic and past economic shocks on the natural resources sector at Natural Resources Canada. He has also worked with Cambridge Resources International (CRI) in training participants on principles of investment appraisal and risk analysis at Queen’s University. Nhial’s research interests include firm-level productivity, development economics, transfer pricing, cost-benefit analysis, and tax policy.
