Onesmo Selejio

Onesmo Selejio is a lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Dar es Salaam and Research Fellow at the Environment for Development (EfD), Tanzania.  He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and he holds BSc and MSc (Agricultural Economics) from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Morogoro, Tanzania. His researches and publications focus mainly on agriculture, development, and natural resources and environment particularly land and forests.

In his recent studies, Selejio has focused on adoption and impact of land management and conservation technologies in addressing smallholder agricultural productivity and climate change effects.  Through research and training he has developed a vast experience in designing and conducting big field surveys especially in rural areas. Apart from publishing in local and international journals, Selejio has co-edited and contributed chapters to Books such as ‘How can Tanzania Move from Poverty to Prosperity?’(DUP 2015) and Fast Tracking Industrialization in Tanzania: The Must Do Actions’ (Forthcoming).
