Patricia “Tracy” Jones is Project Manager and Researcher for the joint LSE-Oxford Urbanisation in Developing Economies Project. Her research focuses mainly on economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is particularly interested in the interplay between history, institutions, and long-run growth. Tracy has worked both inside academia (most recently at Vassar College in the US) and for international organizations. She has publications in the Economic Journal, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, as well as other journals.

Tracy received her DPhil in Economics from Oxford University.  She also holds a MSc (Economic History) from the London School of Economics, a MSc (Development Economics) from Oxford University and a BA (Economics & Political Science) from Emory University.
