Robert Kopp is a climate and sea-level scientist and climate policy scholar. He is a professor in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University and co-director of the university’s Office of Climate Action. He directs the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub (MACH), an NSF-funded initiative focused on climate risk and adaptation in the US Northeast, and is a founding director of the Climate Impact Lab.

Robert’s research explores uncertainty in climate change, particularly sea-level rise, and the interaction between physical climate risks and the economy. He was a lead author of the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report and the US National Climate Assessment. Prior to Rutgers, he held fellowships at the US Department of Energy and Princeton University. He holds a PhD from Caltech and a BA from the University of Chicago.
