Claudia Manning

Dr. Claudia Estelle Manning serves as the Managing Director of ECI Africa at Development Alternatives, Inc. Dr. Manning joined the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) where she worked as an Investment professional in the Bank's Project Finance unit, financing various Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in the Southern African region,including the R8 billion Sasol Gas Mozambique pipeline. She has been an Executive Director of Sangena Investments since 2003. She has been a Director of Development Bank of Southern Africa since August 1, 2005; and Non-Executive Director since Basil Read Holding Ltd., since August 2012. She serves as Non Executive Director of Roadcrete Africa (Pty) Ltd. and Stewart Scott International (Pty) Ltd. Dr. Manning serves on the Board's of DBSA Development Fund; SSI Engineers and Environmental Consultants and Roadcrete Africa. She is a member of the Presidential BEE Council. She worked on the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)'s Spatial Development Initiatives (SDI) Programme, managing a number of Development Corridors. Dr. Manning received MPhil from University of Sussex in 1992. She received BA Hons in Economic History from University of Natal in 1988. She holds D.Phil. degrees from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, U.K. in 1996. she holds BA in English from University of Natal in 1987.
