Vaccine acceptance: Promoting rapid immunisation against COVID-19 in Mozambique

Past Event COVID-19

Mozambique has so far vaccinated 11% of the population and aims to cover just over 50% of the population by the end of the year 2021. Time is very tight to increase vaccination coverage and will require a greater logistical and campaign effort to cope with this new phase of mass vaccination. Moreover, the new Omicron variant detected by South African scientists on 24 November 2021 suggests that the rapid immunisation effort must be irreversible to contain the possible adverse effects of this variant for fragile countries such as Mozambique.

This webinar explores the findings on beliefs and behaviours towards COVID-19 in Mozambique, focusing on vaccine uptake to inform discussion on the challenges of implementing Mozambique's vaccination plan and alternatives for rapid immunisation against COVID-19 in the country.
