Dawit Woubishet Mulatu (PhD) is a Senior Natural Resources and Environmental Economist with experience working on climate, environment, natural resources, and development issues. Dawit's work is mainly related to valuation of ecosystem services, Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES), urban green infrastructure (UGI), water resource management, Forest & Landscape Restoration (FLR), and financial assessment of intervention to restore degraded areas. He closely works with the Government of Ethiopia (GoE) on Advisory and Analytical Services related to Resilient and Green Development (RGD), Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and Natural Capital Accounting (NCA). Dawit published several research papers, policy briefs, discussion papers, economic memorandums, and technical reports; like the Journal of Hydrology, Land Use Policy, Ecosystem Services, Lakes and Reservoir: Research and development, Journal of Water and Environment, Journal of Sustainable Development in Africa, Journal of Economics and Sustainable Development, Water Resource Management, Water International, International Journal of Water Resources Development, International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability, Forest Policy and Economics, and Journal of Water and Environment. With over 10 years’ experience working in a multidisciplinary environment and in the context of many countries including Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Costa Rica, China, and Sweden. He is a Senior Associate Researcher at the Environment and Climate Research Center (ECRC), Policy Studies Institute (PSI) in Ethiopia, which is part of the global program on Environment and Development (EfD).  He holds a PhD in Economics (Resource and Environmental Economics) from University of Twente, the Netherlands, and Master of Science and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
