Fuad Malkawi

Fuad is a senior urban development specialist and Spatial Planning Community of Practice Leader at the World Bank. He specializes in spatial planning, land development and urban design. Fuad led the preparation of spatial plans and downtown revitalization plans for several major cities and city-regions around the world and advised several governments and international organizations on urban planning and management affairs. He published extensively and taught and lectured as an invited guest speaker at several universities and conferences around the World.

Fuad holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas. Fuad is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) at the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, Canada.
