Thandiwe Ng’ombe is a Country Economist at IGC Zambia, specialising in State Effectiveness with a focus on fiscal decentralisation, taxation and civil service reform.

She holds an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from Rhodes University. Prior to joining the IGC, Thandiwe worked as an Impact Measurement Specialist at Genesis Analytics, where she provided strategic advisory support to both private and public sector organisations. Her work included the design, implementation, and evaluation of development interventions in agriculture, firm development, financial services, and community development. Thandiwe’s research interests span development, urban and public economics, with a particular focus on poverty and inequality, firm productivity and growth.
